Rural non-farm employment in Uttar Pradesh, India: drivers and impact

چکیده

The agriculture sector is facing disguised unemployment and the workforce migrating from farm to non-farm sector. This study examines rural employment patterns in Uttar Pradesh, India, identify drivers of household choices impact increased income levels on poverty. shift agricultural sector-across all expenditure landholding classes-is drastic. If increases, rises poverty falls. Promoting crop diversification-and providing extensive infrastructure, financial, technological support-could help localized micro-enterprises engage post-harvest activities.
